CGI is now taking over real actors’ places in feature films. The upcoming Robert Zemeckis CG film, Beowulf, got digital doubles of real actors to interpret one of Anglo-Saxon’s greatest epic ever told. But having the digital counterparts look identical to the real actor begs the question ‘why do all the work involved in motion capture animation if you’re just going to give the actor the same look?’
