If you ever want to challenge your taste buds, look no further than the weird culinary food from Japan. From lettuce and potato ice cream to wasabi flavoured chocolates, Japan has every concoction imaginable. So, it’s only natural that there would be an octopus ball soda (たこ焼きソーダ)!

Octopus balls, formally called takoyaki, are these delicious dough-y balls you can pop in your mouth, often sold by street vendors on the corner of a street near a suburban train station or a street festival. Gee, just what I always wanted — a drinkable form of diced octopus, tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, konnyaku, and green onion, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, green laver (aonori), mayonnaise, and katsuobushi (fish shavings). YUM.
