Inspired by the simpler, cleaner look they adopted to adapt to iPhone, Facebook is redesigning the site for those of us who still visit it online. Though there are no live changes as yet, and they have yet to determine a date for them, the developers are working on putting together something a little more functional and a little less cluttered.
This is great news, because I hate digging through all those “FluffFriends”, “SuperPoke” and “Are You Interested?” just to find someone’s wall to write on. This redesign seems like just the tonic the social networking world needs.
Nintendo does this all the time. A quick color paint job on their portables, and KaChing!! So it’s only natural for Sony to follow suit with their third colored PSP. This time, Sony will be offering a red PSP to gamers. And it’s silk-screened with an image of God of War’s Kratos!
The scarlet handheld will be coming in June, and is bundled with God of War: Chains of Olympus, along with a Superbad UMD movie and a voucher for a free download of Syphon Filter: Combat Ops from the PlayStation Store. It can’t get any better than this. The bundle will retail for $199.99.
Now here’s a way to sell more PS3; bundle it with one of this year’s most anticipated games. Earlier today at Destination PlayStation, a retailers only conference for Sony products, Sony announced that a Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle pack will be released in Q2 2008.
The bundle will include MGS4, an 80GB PS3 and a Dual Shock 3 included for an MSRP of $499.99. It will also include an Metal Gear Online “Starter Pack. For players that pre-order Metal Gear Solid 4, there’s an added bonus: they’ll be guaranteed access in the multiplayer beta of Metal Gear Online in late April.
It was only a matter of time before someone out there would form their own rock band using PocketGuitar and iAno apps on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Consisting of three guys and their Nintendo DS and two iPhones (each running iAno and PocketGuitar respectively) formed their own band and called themselves iBand. Below you will see a video of them jamming away. One of the band members, a reader of Gizmodo released the following statement:
Since Electroplankton on the Nintendo DS we constantly think about implementing those sounds, and since the iPhone we like to play with PocketGuitar (played in the clip by Roland Dell’mour.) Now that iAno came out (played by Marina Dell’mour) we just had to try this out! As you said in your article: there has to be an iPhone band! It’s the next step. And as we’re devoted Giz readers we thought we’d give it a shot and sat down to improvise a little and pressed record on that digital camera.
Unfortunately we only have two iPhones, so we dug out that dusty Nintendo DS. But we want to take it further. There are some guys with iPod touches in our neighbourhood, so we’ll gather them and add a drumset with the BeatPhone app and a guitar and lose the DS. So you can expect another song in the next weeks.
It sold upward of 1.2 million units in Japan, and now WiiFit is gearing up for its western release. According to the Wall Street Journal, the body-conscious Nintendo WiiFit will launch on North American shores on May 19th for under $100. Meanwhile, our European friends will getting their hands on it a bit earlier on April 25th.
Nintendo will be touting the development side of WiiWare during a GDC Panel devoted to the subject tomorrow. Although nothing has been revealed so far, Nintendo stated that the “combination of low development barriers and unique game experiences found only on Wii should enable developers to try new ideas with lower risk in a quicker, more creative and affordable way.”
Reebok created a commercial with the only undefeated team in NFL history, the 1972 Miami Dolphins. The ad features the ‘72 Dolphins players receiving a rather ‘perfect’ gift from the NY Giants. Definitely a wonderful day in the neighborhood.
The behind-the-scene footage:
The unreleased version in case the Patriots did accomplished the perfect 19-0 season.
With a week before the big game yesterday, the Boston Globe jumped the gun and published the book entitled, “19-0: The Historic Championship Season of New England’s Unbeatable Patriots” for sale on Amazon.
If ever there was a Super Bowl Jinx, it would have to be this. Guess they now have to rewrite the last chapter or throw it in with all discounted “New England Patriots SuperBowl champions” caps. (Thanks Vince).
Who knew a baby’s car seat could be so sexy? Derived from a basic form of an egg, the Nestt by Think Thing is the Egg Chair for babies. Simple. Elegant. Surprisingly safe and sturdy. Words that don’t usually go hand in hand when describing high-end designer products.
