I was going to post the story a few weeks back of this Torontonian father selling his son’s hard-to-find Christmas present online after he caught his son smoking dope, but totally forgotten about it. Well, it turns out this little story made front page news today as his Wii copy of Guitar Heroes III fetched well over $9,000 on eBay.
As the story goes, the father planned on giving his son the $90 game this Christmas after spending weeks finding it throughout Toronto.
“So I was so relieved in that I had finally got the Holy Grail of Christmas presents pretty much just in the nick of time. I couldn’t wait to spread the jubilance to my son,” the father wrote on the eBay website.
“Then, yesterday, I came home from work early and what do I find? My innocent little boy smoking pot in the backyard with two of his delinquent friends.”
To teach his son a lesson, the father posted the coveted video game for sale online. One bid of $9,100 later, the teen’s would-be present is now being shipped to a wealthy Australian buyer.
It wouldn’t be Christmas without a present for the bad teen though, as the father has indicated that he may still buy his son a Nintendo game after all. “Maybe something like Barbie as the Island Princess or Dancing with the Stars. I know he will just love them.”

Like their big screen inspiration, these pigs could be squashed, splattered, and completely destroyed against the floor, then magically regain their original shape in seconds, all thanks to its gelatinous plastic material. This amazing toy is only $3 in Japan. Wonder how this will look when you throw it at someone’s face?

The CRTC and Canadian networks finally came to their senses after two years of “negotiating”, and have allowed iTunes Canada to start offering TV shows for download. Canada’s top television programs, a few from the US, and the NHL are now available from Canadian iTunes. Downloadables include CBC’s “Little Mosque on the Prairie,” “South Park,” and NHL Games of the Year. Each is available for CAN$1.99. It’s not much, but at least it’s something.
From the makers of Guitar Hero comes Phase, a simpler version of the peripheral-based game for the iPod, minus the tricked out guitars of course. What it lacks in originality, the game makes back in spades thanks to its ability to use your own songs. Simply create a playlist in iTunes, and it will automatically create note charts for the game. The gameplay is as tight as can be on the iPod, with clean, smooth graphics and a great difficulty curve. This is not one to miss for music game fans on the go.
I’m warning you, this is one hell of an R-rated red band trailer for Harold & Kumar 2: Escape from Guantanamo Bay. There’s bare ass nudity, excessive language, and foul content that you will only ever see in Harold & Kumar, including plenty of Neil Patrick Harris.
We’ve seen cars that can partially park itself thanks to Lexus, but how about a car that drives itself at 100+ km/h? Apparently, BWM has achieve this amazing feat of engineering by having the car ‘learn’ and ‘remember’ the track once the car has been drove once around the circuit. The boys over at Top Gear were lucky enough to puts this car to the test.
When they are not answering your tech support questions most Indian people spend their free time choreographing large multi-person dances and filming really cool music videos. Thanks Em.
